WICH ● World Intracranial Hemorrhage Organization

Learn More About Us

Our innovative approach and commitment to collaboration ensure you gain access to exclusive resources and cutting-edge advancements. Explore how our distinct benefits can enhance your professional journey and impact in the field.

Our Story

Our journey began in 2005 with a groundbreaking event—the 1st International Symposium on Cerebral Hemorrhage held in Ann Arbor, Michigan. This inaugural symposium was led by distinguished academic physicians and researchers, including Dr. Julian T. Hoff, Guohua Xi, and Richard F. Keep. The symposium’s success led to bi-annual meetings alternating between North America, Asia, and Europe, reflecting the growing interest in cerebral hemorrhage research.

As participation continued to expand, the 6th meeting in 2017 was rebranded as the World Intracranial Hemorrhage Conference (WICH) to better represent its global reach. In May 2024, WICH Inc. was officially registered as a non-profit organization in Massachusetts, USA, marking a new chapter in its evolution to enhance its structure and broaden its impact.

Our Mission and Vision

WICH is dedicated to uniting neurologists, neurosurgeons, neuroscientists, researchers, clinicians, nurses, healthcare providers, students, and community members from around the world. Our mission is to facilitate communication, collaboration, and idea exchange among all professionals involved in hemorrhagic stroke research and care. By fostering research and improving support, we aim to address the needs of patients with brain hemorrhage and reduce the global burden of this devastating condition.
